Welcome to my studio. Here you can find a variety of pet portraits and landscapes in watercolour, gouache, ink
and pencil. My commission work includes pet portraits and landscapes from Scotland and England, people, dogs, cats, horses and boats, still-life.

I have two other websites; one about dogs and other pets and wild animals,
and one purely about dog portraits.

There are some pencil drawings in Gallery Five.There are also three pages of pen and ink sketches of local Scottish scenes, a page of drawings of a late 18th century ship of the line called 'La Superbe', and a page about conservation, illustrated by my daughter, Abi, who is now fourteen but was six when she made these drawings. There are fourteen of my essays and stories, see Writings, Essays and Stories, which are mainly about my life in the Scottish Highlands, but also cover such topics as the re-introduction of the wolf into Scotland, Orson Welles' radio production of 'War of the Worlds' in 1938, and the history of heroes in the U.K. and U.S. Finally, there are many pages of links and resources from the UK and US, pet news, TV and radio.
